Non-Surgical and Non-Invasive Technology

The soft tissues around the mouth are as important as the color and position of the teeth in determining the patient’s smile. White Dental Spa in Dallas knows that areas around the mouth need to be considered as important as the teeth for complete smile analysis and esthetic treatment. Our Dallas dentists not only want to give our patients beautiful teeth, but also a beautiful smile. This can all be achieved non-surgically and non-invasively with Botox.

There are many things that go into a beautiful smile. One thing that determines a beautiful smile is the smile line. Do too much of your gums show above your teeth when you smile? In cosmetic dentistry we call this a “gummy smile”.  Gummy smiles distract from beautiful teeth and lips. This can easily and quickly be corrected using Botox. We are proud to be one of the few dental clinics that are experienced in Botox injections. Botox is extremely useful in aesthetic dentistry cases and often used in conjunction with Juvederm filler as a non-surgical alternative to high lip line cases as mentioned above. Botox can also be used to bring relief to patients with TMJ or grinding problems. It can greatly reduce the intensity of muscle contractions that contribute to TMJ, thereby reducing or eliminating facial pain.

The Benefits of Botox Treatment at White Dental Spa

Botox has become one of the most sought-after cosmetic procedures for people looking to rejuvenate their skin. Patients who seek botox cosmetic procedures at White Dental Spa realize that it provides multiple benefits. Below are the benefits of botox and the reasons why you might consider this procedure:

Reduces Wrinkles

The botox injection can safely reduce the appearance of wrinkles by blocking the muscles’ nerve signals, impeding them from contracting and causing deep lines and wrinkles. By doing this, it gives your skin a smoother look.

Botox Injections Are Fast And Safe

Botox injections can be fast and safe when administered by a certified professional. The treatment only takes a few minutes to complete and is very safe. The effects of this procedure last up to four months with minimal downtime. For lasting facial rejuvenation, most people opt for repeated treatments.

Botox Is a Non-Invasive Procedure

Botox is a non-invasive solution that allows patients to feel more confident in themselves. If you want to look younger but don’t want to go through surgical treatments, injections can be a good option.

Enhances Natural Beauty

Another essential benefit of botox treatment is that it boosts natural beauty by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, enhancing the overall look of your skin.

Consultation with a doctor will take place before treatment to evaluate if you are a good candidate for Botox. Topical anesthesia will be placed on the skin prior to treatment for 20 min to decrease sensation in the area before Botox treatment. Botox takes minutes to inject and can transform your look. Both are non-surgical and non-invasive, lasting months. Once results begin to dissipate, patients can schedule another appointment for treatment.

Frequently asked questions

1

How can Botox help TMJ disorder?

Botox treatment is beneficial to patients with TMJ disorder symptoms, as it helps alleviate pain in the jaw muscles. It can also help relieve the discomfort associated with TMJ disorder by temporarily relaxing the muscles in the jaw and face that are causing the symptoms. This procedure blocks the production of a neurotransmitter (acetylcholine) which reduces muscle tension. Sometimes, botox injections help reduce inflammation and swelling in the affected parts. Although botox is not a cure, it can alleviate pain and enhance the function of the jaw and facial muscles in some patients.
2

Does Botox hurt?

Botox treatments are generally not painful, so you don’t have to worry about intense pain. However, some patients may experience some stinging sensation during treatment, but there is no cause for alarm. Most patients find the procedure relatively fast and easy, and the effects last many months. Our dentists have extensive experience in botox treatment and can make the process as painless as possible.

Why come to White Dental Spa for Botox?

Dentists are experts in understanding the facial muscles and nerves and how they work. Many plastic surgeon offices and med spas hire aestheticians to inject their patients, but at White Dental Spa you can rest assured knowing a doctor will perform all injections. We also evaluate the entire face and smile when performing these procedures, so your overall facial beauty will be enhanced. Botox can also be combined with teeth whitening, cleaning and veneers saving time traveling between multiple appointments. If you are located in or near Dallas, Highland Park, or Uptown and are looking for non-invasive treatment, schedule a consultation with Dr. Tung or Dr. Liu.
4

How does Botox work?

Botox uses a special protein to block overactive nerve transmissions and decreases muscle contractions. Through this mechanism, Botox helps to relax muscles beneath the skin. Botox can correct overactive muscles that cause gummy smile and overactive muscles that cause TMJ/grinding issues. These results are not immediate and take place 3-10 days after treatment.
5

Am I a good candidate for Botox?

If you are diagnosed or have TMJ or facial pain, Botox will be beneficial. If you show too much of your gums above your teeth when you smile, Botox will be beneficial. Please discuss any concerns before treatment.
6

Can Botox and Juvederm be used together?

Botox and Juvederm target and enhance different areas of the face. Botox decreases muscle contractions and Juvederm is a filler that plumps skin and lips. Using Botox and Juvederm simultaneously is completely safe because the two treatments do not interact with each other. In fact, when done correctly, Botox and Juvederm compliment each other to create a youthful, well rested look.
7

How long do results last?

Every individual has a different metabolism rate thus the results lasts approximately 3-6 months for Botox. Botox treatment is temporary, and once it begins to wear off, the skin will return to the way it looked before treatment. Treatment can be refreshed at this time.
8

What should I avoid before and after Botox?

Before treatment please avoid medications that thin the blood such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Excedrin, Motrin, fish oil, ginseng, and alcohol. Tylenol is a good pain medication alternative to use at this time. After treatment do not touch or massage injection sites for at least 24 hours. Please avoid other facial treatments like massages, peels and microdermbrasion for at least 2 days after treatment. Please avoid exercise for 24-48 hours. It is beneficial to take Arnica (available without a prescription and found at most natural health food stores).
