If you could straighten your teeth without anyone noticing, would you?

At White Dental Spa, our dentists in Dallas are always investing in the latest and greatest dentistry technology to provide our patients with the best possible dental care. This includes Invisalign treatment, which is why we use an iTero laser scanner for all Invisalign consultations.
The iTero laser scanner is a digital intraoral scanner used at White Dental Spa. It uses pulsed laser light and a special software program to quickly take a 3-dimensional scan and image of your entire mouth, which can be viewed immediately by Dr. Quinn Liu, your cosmetic dentist.
The iTero laser scanner is one of the most advanced intraoral scanners available. In addition to capturing highly accurate 3D images of your teeth, it can also simulate your Invisalign “before and after.” This allows you to see how your teeth are expected to move into alignment and gives you a clear visual preview of your potential final results. You’ll even have the opportunity to review and approve this simulated outcome before beginning your Invisalign treatment.

Some cosmetic dentists need to take dental impressions of your teeth using putty and trays. The trays must be left in place for several minutes as the putty hardens, which can be very uncomfortable. In addition, the goopy putty tends to leave a nasty residue on your teeth after the trays are removed, and some patients with a strong gag reflex may have a lot of trouble having impressions taken of their teeth.
With the iTero laser scanner, there is no need for any messy impressions. Using this touchless laser tool, our dentists can rapidly scan your teeth, assess their position, and begin building a treatment plan.
The iTero laser scanner is completely compatible with the Invisalign® Outcome Simulator. Dr. E-Jan Tung or Dr. Quinn Liu can upload your scan into this tool, and simulate the movement of your teeth throughout the Invisalign process.
This gives you more insight on what to expect as your teeth move, and also lets you see an accurate preview of how your teeth will look once your Invisalign treatment has concluded.
The high precision of our laser scanner ensures that your first several sets of aligners fit perfectly, and that your treatment proceeds without any fit-related problems. Thanks to iTero and its advanced products, you can speed up your overall Invisalign treatment time at White Dental Spa.
Dental impressions must be physically mailed to an Invisalign facility as part of the process of developing a treatment plan. But since the iTero laser scanner takes digital images, these can be sent directly to Invisalign as your treatment is being designed. This results in a turnaround time that’s up to 50% faster for your first several sets of aligners.
Your Invisalign journey begins with a consultation to evaluate your smile and discuss your goals. Using advanced technology like the iTero intraoral scanner, we capture detailed 3D images of your teeth to create a precise digital model. This technology also generates a simulated before-and-after, showing how your teeth are expected to move and what your final results can look like. You’ll have the opportunity to review and approve this preview before treatment begins, ensuring you feel confident and excited about your personalized Invisalign plan.
Based on your treatment plan, a series of custom aligners is created to gently move your teeth into alignment. Each aligner is made from SmartTrack® material for a comfortable fit and effective results. You’ll wear each set of aligners for about one to two weeks, progressing through the series as your teeth gradually shift.
Every 4-6 weeks, we’ll schedule checkups to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments. These appointments ensure your treatment stays on track and give you an opportunity to address any questions or concerns. Once your teeth are perfectly aligned, a custom retainer will be provided to maintain your beautiful results.
While Invisalign aligners are more comfortable than traditional braces, some patients can experience temporary discomfort for a couple of days at the beginning of each new stage of treatment. This is caused from the aligners exerting pressure on your teeth, which is necessary to move your teeth to their final location. The discomfort is temporary and will typically resolve in a few days.
Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day for best results.
You can eat and drink whatever you want while in treatment. The aligners can be removed before you eat and drink.
Invisalign aligners work by applying appropriate controlled pressure on your teeth. What sets Invisalign apart from traditional braces is that Invisalign not only controls the force, but also the timing of the force application – only certain teeth are allowed to move at each stage of treatment. This will effectively shorten the teeth straightening process when compared to traditional metal braces.
After your orthodontic treatment is completed, you would need to wear a clear retainer at night to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back towards their initial position (same as with traditional braces).
Invisalign aligners are clear and nearly invisible. Invisalign aligners are also removable. You have the option and flexibility to remove your aligners to eat and drink and also remove your aligners to brush and floss your teeth. Invisalign aligners are smooth and comfortable with no metal brackets or wires. Invisalign allows you to view your treatment plan and virtual 3D results before you start so you can see how your teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
