We begin with a mini consultation, where our cosmetic dentist evaluates your starting shade, checks your sensitivity levels, and discusses your whitening goals. From there, we customize a whitening plan designed to achieve your brightest results with the least amount of sensitivity.
Because our office offers multiple whitening systems, we select the one best suited for your teeth, sensitivity, and desired outcome.
For the most effective whitening, we highly recommend starting with a dental cleaning (although it’s not required). A dental cleaning removes surface stains, plaque, and tartar that can block the whitening gel and prevent you from achieving your fullest whitening potential.
We begin the whitening process by carefully protecting your gums with a specialized barrier. A desensitizing gel is then applied to each individual tooth, followed by the whitening gel. You’ll also be given protective eyewear for comfort and safety.
Our office offers multiple professional whitening systems, including options that utilize UV-filtered light to enhance and activate the whitening agent. Throughout the appointment, we will monitor your progress closely — applying, removing, and reapplying the gel between rounds as needed to help you reach your whitest, most even shade.
After your whitening session is complete, we will record your final shade and apply a remineralizing gel to help minimize post-treatment sensitivity. Before you leave, we’ll review detailed post-whitening instructions, including what to avoid during the first 24 hours to ensure the longest-lasting results.
If you choose the White Ultimate, you will receive custom whitening trays along with take-home whitening gel so you can maintain your results at home.
If you choose the White Max, we will schedule your second in-office whitening session for two weeks later to help you achieve your brightest, maximum white shade. You will also receive custom whitening trays as mentioned above, as part of this package.
Yes — you can absolutely whiten your teeth even if they’re sensitive.
At White Dental Spa, we specialize in whitening all types of teeth, including those with higher sensitivity levels. Most dental offices rely solely on whatever products come pre-packaged in their whitening kits. These kits may or may not include a basic desensitizer — and when they do, it’s usually a one-size-fits-all solution that doesn’t work for everyone.
Our approach is very different.
We use custom-formulated WHITE desensitizers created in-office, designed specifically to protect your teeth and dramatically reduce sensitivity. This personalized blend is used during the whitening process, giving you a much more comfortable experience.
Additionally, we offer multiple whitening systems and modalities, and we tailor the entire whitening process based on your unique sensitivity level and whitening goals. This ensures you get the brightest results possible with the least amount of discomfort.
It’s important to note that while we do everything possible to minimize sensitivity, any discomfort that does occur is temporary, not permanent. Sensitivity - if experienced at all - may come in short, quick bursts or occur sporadically for up to 24 hours after treatment. Rest assured, any whitening-related sensitivity fully resolves within that time frame.
After your in-office whitening session, we’ll provide you with a “WHITE Diet” list - a guide to the foods and drinks you should avoid for the first 48 hours. During this period, the microscopic “pores” in your teeth are temporarily more open, making them more susceptible to staining. Following this diet is one of the easiest ways to keep your results bright for longer.
The best way to extend and maintain your whitening results is with WHITE At-Home maintenance. Your custom-fitted trays and professional-strength whitening gel allow you to refresh your smile whenever needed. When used as directed, they can help keep your smile bright for many months.
We also offer a one-of-a-kind benefit: If you return within 6 months of your WHITE in-office treatment, you’ll receive 50% off your next whitening session. You can take advantage of this as many times as you’d like — there is no limit to how often you can use this offer as long as you return within the 6-month window.
At White Dental Spa, your whitening treatment is overseen by licensed cosmetic dentists who understand the importance of protecting your enamel and gums. Whitening may seem simple, but without proper training, it can lead to gum burns, weakened enamel, and long-term sensitivity — which is why whitening at spas or with non-dental professionals is never recommended.
What makes WHITE different is our attention to both safety and comfort:
• Custom-formulated desensitizing gels: We apply a personalized blend of desensitizing gel before every whitening treatment (and even before cleanings), something most dental offices do not take the extra step to do. This dramatically reduces sensitivity and makes the entire process more comfortable.
• Customized whitening systems: Unlike traditional dental offices that rely on a single whitening system (for example, giving every patient Zoom! regardless of their needs), we offer multiple whitening modalities. We tailor your treatment based on your starting shade, sensitivity level, type of staining, and whitening goals.
• Enamel- and gum-safe protocols: Because your treatment is performed by dental professionals, you can trust that every step — from gum protection to gel application — is done with your long-term oral health in mind.
Most patients can expect their teeth to whiten 6–12 shades brighter on average, but results vary from person to person. Your starting shade, natural tooth color, enamel thickness, and gum sensitivity all play a role in how much your teeth can whiten. Your final results will always be natural, bright, and tailored to the healthiest whiteness your teeth can safely achieve.
At White Dental Spa, your whitening experience begins with a mini consultation where our cosmetic dentist evaluates your starting shade, sensitivity level, and whitening goals. We then select the whitening system best suited for your needs from our multiple professional modalities. Before whitening begins, we protect your gums with a specialized barrier and apply our custom-blended desensitizing gel to each tooth — a unique step that dramatically reduces sensitivity and sets us apart from other dental offices and spas. This ensures you achieve the brightest results possible with maximum comfort.
The whitening session itself includes one or more rounds of professional-strength whitening gel, with UV-filtered light activation depending on the system selected. Between rounds, we remove and reapply gel as needed until we reach your optimal shade. Once complete, we record your final shade and apply a remineralizing gel to calm the teeth and minimize any lingering sensitivity. You’ll receive detailed “WHITE Diet” instructions to protect your results for the first 48 hours. Depending on your package, you’ll either receive custom take-home trays to maintain your brightness (White Ultimate) or return in two weeks for your second in-office session to reach your maximum whiteness (White Max). The entire process is safe, customized, and designed to deliver your brightest, longest-lasting smile.
Your teeth will not be sensitive at all during your whitening procedure at White Dental Spa, since we use a specially-blended desensitizing gel to protect your teeth. We also use custom trays and other tools to avoid contact with your gums, which further increases your comfort during the whitening process. However, there is a possibility that you may experience some sensitivity after your teeth whitening treatment. This is the most common with chemical whiteners like hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide. During the whitening process, these chemicals weaken your tooth enamel very slightly, which can cause the tooth to become more sensitive for a little while. This is particularly common in people who may already have sensitive teeth. The good news is that this usually lasts only a few days after teeth whitening. Your teeth will quickly recover, especially if you’re brushing frequently with fluoride toothpaste, which helps attract minerals to the enamel and strengthen your teeth. You also can use a toothpaste like Sensodyne to help with tooth sensitivity after teeth whitening at White Dental Spa.
